I am a creator of various things on the internet and I am deeply obsessed with all things media. This website is mostly a very fancy link tree, but it also serves as part portfolio, and part catch-all introduction to me and my work from any of the disparate places you may have found me around the internet. So, hi! I’m Nicole!

I have spent the past (almost) decade working as a producer, editor, director, and occasional host at Complexly.

Currently: I work with the best science communicators around as the Executive Producer of SciShow and its many brands — SciShow TikTok, SciShow Tangents, SciShow Kids.

Previously: I was the EP of a bunch of other wonderful shows: PBS Eons (+ TikTok & podcast), Journey to the Microcosmos, Ours Poetica, and Bizarre Beasts. Before that I was a producer on Crash Course, helping to teach millions of people around the world everything from astronomy and engineering to philosophy and sociology – which I also hosted! I also created a bunch of special projects at Complexly, like our bi-annual How To Vote In Every State series (expanded in 2020 to include a Voter Guide for first time voters & a guide to activism beyond the ballot box); The People v., an award-winning collaboration with ITVS on prison reform; and two shows for our first ever pilot series, History Pop and Hashed Out. I’ve also won a couple Webby awards along the way, which is pretty neat.

I am also so chronically online that I do work-adjacent things in ways that do not pay my bills. I co-founded a little media criticism site Snark Squad, where I co-produce, co-host, and edit its podcasts Snark Squad Pod & Cooler Than Homework. I also co-host a monthly nonfiction book club live show. I also have a lot of feelings about context collapse, as evidenced by my need to acknowledge, up front, that I am speaking to an unknowably varied audience.

When I am not working I am probably collecting a new hobby. In 2023 I earned my private pilot’s license, and before that I was spending the early days of the pandemic teaching myself to sew. I am slowly replacing my entire wardrobe with outfits I made myself because the only thing better than “thanks, it has pockets” is “thanks, I made it (and it has pockets).”
