Visiting Rennes, a YouTube friend, and ZOMG I’M GOING HOME.
As my departure from Europe is now imminent, and classes are finally over leaving me on several weeks of actual vacation (ZOMG WHAT IS THIS?) before I start writing my thesis (EW), I went out to Rennes, France this weekend. The Thursday vlogger for The Expat Chronicles lives near there, and since we know my endless feelings on how the internet is real, and my love of meeting internet friends, particularly when it involves going to strange/unknown places, this visit has been in the works for a while now.
At some point I might do an actual blog post, with, you know, words that you read, and other silly things. Since, however, we are YouTube friends, it’s kind of inevitable that this post would be a place for me to share the vloggy ridiculousness.
She traded days last week and uploaded this excellent (albeit long) video on Friday:
And today, it being my turn again, I made a John Green style Thoughts From Places video, without any of his eloquence. Gaëlle has wanted us to do Thoughts From Places videos for a while, so this attempt is mostly for her, but if you mute my rambling, there’s a lot of pretty video of Rennes to look at.
Sidebar: Gaëlle being ridiculous will make absolutely no sense if you have not seen this vlogbrothers video. She’s not just some French weirdo who likes talking about Hitler and sex. I mean, all right, she’s French and an oddball, but not so much on the last bit.
With my departure two weeks away (as of yesterday!) I will probably also blog about the fact that I still kind of sort of very much feel that going back home is some sort of death sentence and my quest to convince myself that this is not true. I will also probably continue to blog about things that I’m going to blog about but, you know, won’t.
